Bacto Reef Balls is the first bacteria-based product to feature time-release technology in a sphere. Both bacteria and carrier material are 100% reef safe and promote a healthy and natural aquarium. As soon as the bacteria is introduced into the aquarium, the bacteria begins its task and reduces nitrates and phosphates. Our blend of bacteria has been specially developed to suit the needs of reef aquariums by providing a stable and diverse bacterial culture. Any excess bacteria becomes a food source for corals and protozoa and are skimmed by a protein skimmer.

Special Composition

Other materials such as normal gel acts as an additional carbon source and thus dissolves faster and makes controlled delivery impossible.

DOSAGE: 

Two (2) BACTO REEF BALLS per 100 liters (26.4 US gal), replace every 2 weeks
Begin with half the recommended dosage to assess the specific needs of your aquarium. Place Bacto Reef Balls in a high flow area of your filter. We recommend placing the spheres in a filter bag or stocking. In aquariums without a skimmer, begin with a quarter of the dosage.

TIPS:

• Make sure the balls are not placed near the suction of a pump
• BACTO REEF BALLS slowly dissolve upon contact with water slowly for the next 2-4 weeks. During this time, natural bacteria, as well as a highly effective enzyme solution is introduced into the water.
• After adding BACTO REEF BALLS, your skimmer performance may significantly increase. This is the first sign of an increased nutritional degradation. With increase or removal of BACTO REEF BALLS, you can determine the exact needs of your aquarium.
• A general dosage can not be specified due to the individuality of aquariums and their stocking levels.
• We recommend that you start with half the recommended dose and gradually add more BACTO REEF BALLS until you achieve your desired values. Check with regular water tests.

STORAGE: 

BACTO REEF BALLS contain live bacteria that live in their perfectly protected gel casing and supplied. After opening, store the product in a dark and cool area.
BACTO REEF BALLS should be used within 6-9 months of opening.

Please mix Coral Balance with some aquarium water and add the suspension into an area with high flow to facilitate rapid distribution.

For tanks older than 2 years or with PO4 levels higher than 0.15 ppm we recommend a reduction by 50%.

When using Coral Balance in combination with Reef Vitality, please reduce dosing of both products by half.

Instruction for use and dosing recommendations:

Please do all changes in the aquarium slowly and carefully monitor the water quality!
Mix 1 Teaspoon in 100 ml of Reverse Osmosis or de-ionized water. Shake well for 30 seconds before use. The normal dose of 10 ml for 40 L of water can be increased up to threefold. In newly established tanks or with freshly introduced fishes use twice the normal dose. In tanks with high No2-, NH3-, NH4- concentrations, use the fourfold dose daily until nutrient levels come down.
UltraLive is a natural product that can be extremely helpful in many cases, it is NOT a substitute for regular water changes.

However, our new Fauna Marin Zeo-Light-System now provides you a zeolite filtration system for excellent results in coral coloration and growth without the need of supplementing countless additives. 1. 1. Mix Ultra Clam and Ultra MIN S to a stiff MASH.
   2. Add as much Ultra MIN S until a small (1-2 mm) supernatant (liquid lying on top of solid) forms and let sit over night.
   3. The next day the supernatant should have disappeared.
   4. Now add more Ultra MIN S until you have a small supernatant again, and let the food sit for a few hours. You can store the food mix for about a week.
   5. For every 1000 L (250 gal) add 5 – 10 mL of the food mix several times per day. To disperse the food, add to a high flow are of the tank.
   6. The total amount of food depends on the nutrient concentration in the aquarium, the lower the nutrient concentration, the less food is necessary.
